The K-Sun Defense

SPF-Forward

Korean and Japanese sunscreens can use UV filters the FDA still hasn't approved. This routine is built around protection, with brightening and barrier work everywhere else.

The Essentials

The minimum routine. Skip nothing here.

The Extras

Optional add-ons. Each has a "when to add" trigger, none are daily-use unless the trigger fits.

Korea and Japan approve UV filters (Tinosorb M, Mexoryl XL, Uvinul A Plus) the FDA still hasn't. Korean brands sell US formulas through their American stores, and Anua's Zero-Cast is the pick here: SPF 50, fragrance-free, and a low white cast per its listing. Anessa Perfect UV is the J-beauty equivalent. Pair with niacinamide and vitamin C for brightening.
